John's Interview

2020

John's Interview is a CG-animated slapstick comedy about a young man who must endure passing a kidney stone while interviewing for his first job.

My senior thesis project at SCAD, I worked with a team of ten other talented students. Wearing many hats through all phases of production, we created this film in 30 weeks.

In pre-production, I was heavily involved in the story process, deciding on story beats, and translating them into effective visuals, and editing the animatic. In production, I animated characters in 3D as well as faux-2D using flat planes in 3D space. I also assumed the role of Assistant Producer, helping to ensure pipeline efficiency and communication between departments.

It was a very rewarding experience working together to tell a story about something I think many college students can relate to - nerves about entering the workforce!
